As he did last season, Philipp Plein decided to present his fall 2025 men’s collection within the flamboyant spaces of The Plein Hotel, inaugurated just a few months ago. The German designer’s main focus, he said right before the show, is to be consistent from a stylistic point of view, to be recognizable. And Plein is keen to point out he has managed to achieve that during his 25-year career. For that reason he defined his latest menswear proposals as “typically Philipp Plein.” Another characteristic is the continuity between men’s and womenswear collections: it’s common to find materials and fabrics used in both the lines, with the addition of elements such as crystal decorations to distinguish them.
In this exploration of consistency, an evening-oriented tendency was immediately apparent, with structured blazers proposed in Plein’s signature crystal embellishments, with a country motif created with micro studs. Then, adaptability to newness kicked in with more ample silhouettes, very new to the Plein aesthetic. Skater-inspired jeans, star-embroidered or signed with a giant vintage-like logo, were paired with oversized coats. But the truly interesting switch was the introduction of some preppy elements, such as patches on jackets, a college vibe through knitwear intarsia, and varsity jackets. The women’s section added the most glamorous touch, as well as a new exploration of oversized volumes.
