This morning, Anora star Mikey Madison added “Oscar nominee” to her list of accomplishments. But the campaign for a golden statuette doesn’t end here—nor does Madison’s campaign to bring back ladylike dressing.
Yesterday, the actor was spotted out and about in New York City, where she wore a powder blue minidress and matching cropped jacket from Patou. The tweed shift dress, from the brand’s spring 2025 collection, featured a low-slung belt across the hips. Madison, with a hand from stylist Jamie Mizrahi, accessorized her baby blue look with high-contrast pieces. She bundled up in a floor-grazing black coat from Proenza Schouler and added sheer black tights underneath her dress.
Madison gave her sweet outfit a femme fatale edge with her styling—most notably a pair of sexy black patent leather Ferragamo pumps, which featured a wraparound T-strap. She shielded her eyes with a pair of impenetrable black sunglasses and carried a round black leather purse from St. Agni.
This isn’t the first time the 25-year-old actor has embraced the ladylike style. Last year she gave the look a risqué twist in a Schiaparelli blazer and maxi skirt, both of which featured the brand’s bijoux buttons. But Madison chose to wear the skirt backward, putting its gold nipple buttons on full display. And at the Deauville Film Festival in France last summer, she traded in skirts for shorts, wearing Chanel’s signature tweed in a short suit.
While such a commitment to proper, stuffy fashions can help young actors brand themselves as serious and mature, it can also sometimes read like they’re playing dress-up. But Mikey Madison’s fun touches—sexy shoes, leather accessories—breathe new life into the look.
